Ashlee Jenae, a U.S. based lifestyle influencer on the outside was living a perfect life.
Dating a wealthy man and traveling. Her only job was to look beautiful and go on photoshoots.
However, this all came to an end on a Safari trip planned by her then boyfriend Joe McCann. He proposed during their vacation and she posted a series of photos indicating the couple was having the time of their life, but days later she was found hanging from her hotel room.
Her unfortunate passing has led to the questioning of her fiancé and an investigation as troubling details have emerged. We do not know all of the information regarding her passing, but there are still lessons we can take from this.
So many women look for an easy way out such as finding a wealthy man, but in the case of Ashlee Jenae we are able to see all that glitters isn’t gold.
When dating make sure to use your intuition and not be swayed by glitz and glamour.
If you are in a position where you have your own and have invested in yourself, this makes it easier to navigate new relationships.
Dating wealthy men may appear to be the holy grail on the outside, but if you are not established you are at their beck and call, and have given them more control over the situation and more leverage in your life.
The most attractive thing to a quality wealthy man is a woman who doesn’t “need him”, but chooses him based on compatibility and natural attraction.
Another thing to keep in mind is due to the patriarchal and social structures of our society it’s important to enter relationships with discretion, especially if you are a woman of color. Many women of color already receive additional barriers and obstacles within the dating and marriage market.
It’s important to evaluate your partner thoroughly. If he holds on to deeply seated negative beliefs, this can cause damage for your relationship, and overall well being.
As someone who has dated very wealthy and “high valued men”, I can tell you things are not always what they appear to be and use your discernment and intuition at all times!
